MAUI SOLDIER DIES IN NON-COMBAT INDIDENT IN IRAQ

A Kahului soldier is the latest member of the armed forces with Hawaii ties to die while in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. 28-year-old Specialist Christopher P. Sweet died February 6th in Kirkush, Iraq, of injuries sustained in a non-combat related incident. Sweet was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 172nd Separate Infantry Brigade out of Grafenwoehr, Germany. Circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
