On Saturday, February 21, 2009, Nä Leo Käko`o O Maui, Inc. will host its 13th Annual Kula Kaiapuni Golf Tournament benefiting Kula Kaiapuni O Maui, Hawaiian Language Immersion School at the
Waiehu Municipal Golf Course. Make a difference in the future of our students—Maui’s future stewards—individuals who possess a strong sense of place, and a sense of self, that embodies Hawaiian language, thinking, and culture.
According to event organizer Carole Vida, “by popular demand, we are pleased to announce the return of a 2-man scramble team play format this year. We are also happy to partner again with radio stations KPOA 93.5FM and ESPN/KMVI AM 550. Radio personalities from both stations will host a contest leading up to the golf tournament and four lucky golfers will win a spot to play in the tournament.”
Golfers who submit applications before February 13 will be entered in a drawing for a Las Vegas trip for two that includes airfare and meals. On the course, golfers can vie for a chance at hole-in-one prizes. All registered golfers are also entered in a drawing for a million dollar hole-in-one shot.
Play begins with a shotgun start at 7:00 a.m. Tournament fee is $90 per golfer. A luncheon and award ceremony will be held immediately following play at the Sand Trap Clubhouse.
