MAKAWAO MARIJUANA BUST

A 61-year-old man was arrested during the drug bust of a Makawao home last week (Wednesday, February 11^th).  During a search of the property, vice officers discovered an indoor marijuana growing operation with 12 mature plants, 1 ounce of processed marijuana, a ventilation system, grow lights, a food sealing machine, drug notes, and other paraphernalia.  An investigation revealed that the suspect possessed a medical marijuana permit, but authorities say the man exceeded the legal limit and claim he was selling the marijuana for profit.  The suspect was released pending further investigation and the case has since been referred to the prosecutor’s office.
