Three softball fields at Central Maui’s Keopuolani Park will reopen on April 27th after the completion of a fence replacement project. The fields were closed in late January as the $136,000 project got underway. The contract was awarded to Valley Isle Fencing.

The county is also working on a $150,000 project to install 19 solar powered light fixtures along a portion of the park’s pedestrian walkway. The 90-day contract was awarded to Lite Electric, Inc. and is slated for competition by the end of April. Due to the use of heavy equipment and open trenchwork, use of the walkway may be disrupted during the day as work continues along the path. However, parks staff expect the walkway to be reopened for public use in the evening.
