The Office of Elections and the City and County Clerks issued a reminder to individuals interested in seeking elective office, that 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 is the candidate filing deadline. 

Due to vacancies created by the resignations of mid-term state senators Robert Bunda, D-22nd (North Shore, Wahiawa), and Gary Hooser, D-7th (Kauai, Niihau), candidate filing to fill those senate vacancies has been set for July 30, 2010.

The primary election this year will be held on September 18, 2010 and the General Election is set for November 2, 2010.  Pacific Radio Group will provide up tot he minute election results following the closure of polls on both days.  Live wall to wall coverage will be provided on our KNUI 900 AM radio station along with a live televised simulcast on University of Hawaii Maui College, Channel 55.  Maui’s most experienced team of reporters will join forces again to provide Maui’s most complete election coverage.   Co-Hosts Alaka’i Paleka, Wendy Osher and Fred Guzman will deliver live election results along with candidate interviews and the best in team coverage of issues affecting Maui County.
