11:08 a.m. 9/1/10:  The Hana Highway is now re-opened in the Kailua area.  The road was closed for about two hours while firefighters battled a blaze between mile post 10 and 11.  The fire has since been extinguished. 

9:22 a.m. 9/1/10:  The Hana Highway on Maui is closed in the Kailua area between Mile post 10 and 11 due to a brush fire.  Fire and police units are on scene.  There is no estimated time on when the road will reopen.  The road was closed at 9:22 a.m.
