Inspiration Wellness Expo Coming Soon!

For Hawaiians looking to enhance their overall health, the Inspiration Wellness Expo on Kauai is the place to go. This two-day event offers a plethora of seminars and informational booths to teach visitors everything they need to know to maintain an optimal state of health and wellness throughout life. From trends in traditional medicine to a variety of holistic healing options, there will be plenty to benefit from at this expo. We have just a few highlights of the upcoming January event for your perusal.

Kauai‘s Health and Wellness Industry

The expo, titled, “Inspirational Journeys,” is used to promote Kauai’s Health and Wellness Industry (HWI). The Kauai Island Wide Health Vision is, “Malama kou kino, e na ohana, e na aina,” which means, “Take care of yourself, your family and the land.” The keynote speakers, entertainment and booths will all reflect this philosophy, from the message from Dr. Len Saputo, MD, titled, “Integrative Community Healthcare Systems,” to a performance by Grammy Award winning Taiko Master Koji Nakamura, Taiko Artist Steven Nakamura and Kumu Hula Puna Kalama Dawson.

In addition, the expo will feature more than 100 exhibitors and 30 guest speakers from Hawaii and worldwide. The primary purpose of the expo is to increase awareness of health issues, as well as foster growth and economic stability for HWI. The event will include motivational speakers on topics such as eastern and western medicine, spiritual awakening and complementary medicine. Specific techniques, such as massage, yoga, acupressure and chi gong will also be explored.

This is the seventh annual expo for Kauai, an island that is known for its commitment to physical health, visual beauty and spiritual power. The expo is one of a series of events that Kauai typically hosts each year, including a healing garden festival, Melama Ola festival and marathon. The island is also filled with resort spas offering a host of wellness services, from Ayurvedic therapies to lomi lomi massage.

The 2011 Inspiration Wellness Expo is scheduled to run January 29 and 30. The hours of the expo are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, with indoor events, exhibits, workshops and guest speakers throughout the weekend. The event will be held at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall, in Lihue, Kawaii. Ticket prices to attend the event are just $5 for one day or $8 for the entire weekend. Children and seniors are admitted free of charge. Booth space is still available and prices range from $200 to $250 for a space.
