The transition team for Governor-elect Neil Abercrombie began reviewing some 2,430 applications on Monday.  The team continues to accept applications from those interested in working for the Abercrombie Administration via the NewDayHawaii.org website, which was launched on November 4, 2010.

Yesterday (Monday, November 15, 2010) was the suggested date for applicants to submit their resumes, but the passing date is not a final deadline.  Transition Director Bill Kaneko, who is in charge of the outreach effort, said in a news release that interested applicants can continue to submit materials until all positions are filled.

As of Monday, no decisions on Cabinet members or other positions were made. Kaneko said decisions related to who will serve on the leadership team will be made by Abercrombie himself.

“We continue to encourage everyone to participate by applying or identifying talented public servants who are ready to face the political and fiscal challenges in Hawaii today,” said Kaneko in the release.

“We are looking for people who are dedicated to Governor-Elect Abercrombie’s vision of a New Day in Hawaii and who can work effectively with our diverse communities,” he said.
