VIDEO: Procession and Entertainment, Arakawa Inauguration

A cross-section cultural groups and religious leaders participated in the 2011 Inauguration ceremony of Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa.  The evening started with entertainment provided by Maui musicians “Bradda Francis” Koahou and Grammy Award winning entertainer George Kahumoku Jr. 

[flashvideo file=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXA9kGwkKAE /] That was followed by an oli or chant by Kimokeo Kapahulehua, and a procession led by the Royal Order of Kamehameha I.  Royal Order members participating in the event were led by Ali’i Nui Sir William Roback Jr., Ali’i Aimoku Sir Cliff Alakai, and Na WAhine Hui ‘o Kamehameha Lady Kuulei Kaauamo. 

The event also included a multi-denominational blessing from Rev. Walter Baloaloa, Rabbi David Glickman, Dr. James Morocco, Rev. Shinkai Murakami and Fr. Efren Tomas.
