UH President M.R.C. Greenwood Appointment Extended

The University of Hawaii Board of Regents today extended the appointment of UH President M.R.C. Greenwood for three more years.

“We believe Dr. Greenwood has demonstrated her effectiveness and her commitment to UH. The Regents are confident that the University and the State of Hawai‘i will benefit from her continued leadership,” said BOR Chair Howard Karr.

Karr credited Greenwood with steering the UH System during drastic budget cuts.  Meanwhile, he said Greenwood was able to move forward with research initiatives such as the UH Cancer Center, and the proposed Thirty Meter Telescope.

Regents further praised Greenwood’s work in convening the first Hawaii Higher Education Summit last fall, and tis month’s symposium on innovation.

Greenwood’s extended appointment runs through July 31, 2015.
