The Battlefield Band is moving forward with Scotland’s past.  Named after the Glasgow suburb of Battlefield, members mix old songs and traditional music with a new self-penned repertoire.  The fusion of ancient and modern utilizes a variety of instruments including bagpipes, fiddle, synthesizer, guitar, bodhran and accordian.

This unique sound can be heard during a live Maui performance at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater.

Of particular note for Maui fans is the song, “Ku’ula Kai,” featured on their current album, Zama Zama, which was written about a fishing legend from Hana, Maui.
