A Flash Flood Watch was issued for the western portion of the state through Friday afternoon. Kauai, Niihau and Oahu remain under the watch as a developing low pressure system draws moisture and unstable air over the state.

The front associated with the system is expected to reach Kauai on Friday, bringing the possibility of heavy rainfall.

The storm system will also bring strong winds and increasing seas. A small craft advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. Thursday to 6 p.m. on Friday. Southwest winds will be in the 25 knot range with rough seas of 8-13 feet. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
