The University of Hawaii, Maui College Nursing Program will host a health and safety fair at the Kahului campus on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. The Healthy Maui 2011 event is free to the public. All age groups are encouraged to attend.
The primary goal of the event is to promote health and safety in the local community. There will be information available on topics such as diabetes, holistic health, disaster preparedness, and cardiovascular health. Those in attendance will also be able to participate in free health screenings.
Representatives from the Maui Department of Fire and Public Safety will also be on hand to promote fire safety.
Additional festivities include music by Alliez, interactive games and prizes, raffles, and plate lunches for purchase.
The fair is hosted by the current nursing classes and is free to the public. Those in attendance will be able to meet the future generation of nurses, and learn ways to stay healthy and safe.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at UHMC next to the Pa’ina building.
