Surf is expected to be in the 6 to 8 foot range along the east facing shores of Maui and Molokai today.  Forecasters with the National Weather Service say surf is expected to remain elevated through Friday.  A High Surf Advisory has been posted until 6 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011.

A high tide of approximately 2.1 feet is expected this afternoon between 5:18 p.m. and 6:36 p.m.  The next high tide of 1.3 feet is expected early tomorrow morning between 3:20 a.m. and 4:38 a.m.

As a precautionary measure, beach goers are urged to stay out of the water and away from the shore break due to hazardous wave action, strong rip currents, and localized beach erosion.
