Security Services for County Parks Up for Bid

Today, the County of Maui released a Request for Proposal for private security services for County parks and public areas on Maui and Molokai to be provided from July 2011 through June 2012.

The main services being solicited from security guard services are the locking of the entry gates, and monitoring of camping sites.

When locking the entry gates, the guards are required to do a walk-through, assess illegal activities and assess the general condition of the park or facility. The guards are also required to notify park users of closure time and assure removal of all individuals and their personal belongings from the premises.

When monitoring camping sites, security guard are required to check all individuals for valid camping permits. Only people with valid Parks Department issued permits are allowed. Services will also include the monitoring of the camping sites for illegal activities and the physical condition of the sites.
