By Wendy Osher
The Maui Adult Day Care Centers and the Maui County Office on Aging join in offering a free Caregiver Workshop this weekend.
The “Understanding Sensory Changes with Aging” workshop includes interactive activities that simulate changes commonly associated with aging. Participants will learn ways to adjust everyday communication to meet the needs of those receiving care.
The featured speaker for the program is Heather Greenwood with the University of Hawaii at Manoa Cooperative Extension.
The workshop runs from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the Hale Mahaolu Elima Community Hall in Kahului. The session is free and open to the public. No reservations are needed.
Participants will be provided with a light breakfast and certificates of attendance.
Free care for your adult loved one will also be provided during the workshop. For more information, call Kathy at (808) 871-5804.
