Henry Kapono CD release

Grammy award nominee, numerous Na Hoku Hanohano Awards winner, and island son, Henry Kapono, will offer a free CD release concert at Duke’s Beach House on July 1, at 5:00 p.m. Kapono and his band will perform songs from his new self-titled CD,  “Henry.”  Special guests will also join the fun and help celebrate Kapono’s CD release.

If you’re a total noob to the state of Hawaii, you may not have heard of, or had the opportunity, to catch Kapono in concert. Back in the early 70s, on Oahu, Kapono began jamming with Cecilio Rodrigues and formed the now famous, C&K. Three decades later, this duo has won numerous awards, completed 14 records, and have explored solo projects, which have been successful.

In 2007, Kapono walked the red carpet for his Grammy nomination, won the Na Hoku Hanohano award for rock album of the year, and played the halftime show at the NFL Probowl.
