In its commitment to growing the Chinese visitor market, the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) and China Television (CHTV) have teamed up and developed a Chinese language welcome video that started showing on the new CHTV Hotel Channel July 1.

The nearly two minute-long video features HTA’s President Mike McCartney as he welcomes Chinese visitors to Hawaii and includes acknowledgement of Hawaii’s and China’s shared cultural history.

CHTV programming includes hourly news feeds from two of China’s largest news sources – CCTV and Phoenix. HTA and each of the four island visitors’ bureaus also provide Chinese language information.

The CHTV Hotel Channel is free to hotel guests and free to hotels with Oceanic cable service.
