Sassy Wanda Sykes Comes to Maui

Smart-mouthed and sassy Wanda Sykes visits Maui in September.

The WANDA SYKES ~ I’ma Be Me show on Maui takes place on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 8 p.m. in the Castle Theater at the MACC.

Sykes’ stand up comedy has earned her starring roles in television’s The New Adventures of Old Christine, her own late-night talk show The Wanda Sykes Show on FOX, and an HBO comedy special I’ma Be Me.

The Maui show will include material from Sykes’ recent national tour with topics including politics, karma, and the pressures of being a woman and the perks of getting older.

Her witty comedy has earned her peer accolades and ranking by Entertainment Weekly as one of the 25 Funniest People in America.

Tickets to members of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center (MACC) went on sale Wedesday (July 13), with sale to the general public starting on Friday, July 15, 2011.  Tickets are $6, $66, or $76 for premium seats (plus applicable fees), and area available online at mauiarts.or, via phone at (808) 242-SHOW, or in person at the MACC Box Office.
