Japan, Korea Focus of First APEC Opportunity Series Session

In anticipation of the more than 20,000 foreign officials and business representatives that will flood Honolulu in November, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Hawaii Pacific Export Council, and the State of Hawaii Department of Business Economic Development and Tourism is sponsoring the first of a nine-session entitled “APEC 2011 Opportunity Series” on July 28.
The first session will focus on doing business with and in Japan and Korea. Topics covered included the latest information on the Japanese recovery, the pending U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement, and the major trends in each country. Learn about the exciting prospects for Hawaii companies in each of the APEC markets directly from country representatives and business leaders.
Hear from experts at the U.S. Embassies in each market and experienced local businesses on where the best opportunities exist, how to do business effectively, avoid common pitfalls, and how to connect with the best partners and buyers in key markets throughout the Asia Pacific.
The July 28 program runs from 1:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be held at Hawaii Foreign Trade Zone #9’s Main Conference Room, 2nd Floor, 521 Ala Moana Boulevard, Pier 2.
