ROAD OPEN: Traffic Accident in Launiupoko 11:39 a.m. 7/22/11

Motorists traveling to or from Lahaina, may experience a slowdown in traffic near the Launiupoko area. The road is OPEN, however there was an accident reported at 11:39 a.m. that temporarily blocked traffic. The accident has since been cleared, but it may take some time for traffic to resume its normal flow. Again, the Honoapiilani Hihgway is OPEN in both directions.

Motorists are advised of a traffic accident in the Launiopoko area of the Honoapiilani Highway (Hwy 30).  At 11:39 a.m., Maui police were on scene, and were awaiting the arrival of tow companies to remove vehicles damaged in the accident.  The accident occurred on the Highway in the area fronting Launiupoko Beach Park.  Maui police say traffic is slowed in the area and that the immediate area is blocked by the damaged vehicles.
