The Gas Company Names New Vice President, General Counsel

An honors graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii, Nathan Nelson, Esq. will replace George Aoki as vice president, general counsel and secretary at The Gas Company (TGC).
The Gas Company provides gas services to residential, business and government customers throughout the state of Hawaii — Oahu, Maui, Hawaii, Kauai, Molokai and Lanai.
Nelson will be responsible for legal and regulatory affairs and report to TGC’s president & chief executive officer for fiduciary obligations.
George Aoki retired earlier this year.
“We are delighted to welcome Nathan Nelson. He has a background in corporate law, experience in structuring complex transactions and an understanding of Hawaii’s legal and regulatory practices. Nate’s skills are an important addition to the senior management team as The Gas Company continues its strategy to move Hawaii toward a cleaner more sustainable energy future,” said Jeffrey M. Kissel, president and CEO, in a written statement today.
Nelson comes to The Gas Company from Carlsmith Ball, LLP where he served as interim general counsel. He is also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Nebraska.
