Governor Abercrombie Goes LIVE from Akakū

Governor Neil Abercrombie will host a LIVE press conference from the studios of Akakū Maui Community Television today.

During the media event, the Governor is expected to inform the public about Akakūʻs YBEAM (Youth Broadband Education & Awareness Mentoring) Project, a program that extends communications access to under-served communities, and provides youth training in computer technology.

The Governor is also expected to make an announcement about one of Maui’s non-profit organizations.

The press conference begins at 10:30 a.m. and will be broadcast on Akakūʻs Channels 52, 53, and 54, and streamed on www.akaku.org. A  short question and answer session will follow.

Later today, the governor will speak at a luncheon hosted by the Maui Chamber of Commerce. Tomorrow he will make several stops in South Maui before returning to Oahu.
