So there’s some ball players, an overzealous baseball fan, a pact with a devil, a sexy temptress, and belly shaking antics and songs. On August 5, the Maui Tropical Plantation will host the Maui Academy of Performing Arts production, Damn Yankees.

David C. Johnston is directing this Broadway musical set in the 1950s, adapted from the book by George Abott and Douglas Wallop. This tale is Faustian in nature and is a funny self-versus-self type of tale. Upon getting the opportunity to attain what he thought was his heart’s desire, the protagonist comes to realize what is most important in his life.

This production will run each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from August 5, to August 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Maui Tropical Plantation. Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors, and $18 for students. This is an outdoor venue, so bring something comfy to sit on, if you choose the lawn over the bleacher style seating.
