By Wendy Osher
Family and friends of Maui teacher, Erika Huck, are hosting a fundraiser in her honor on Sunday, August 14, 2011.
The fundraiser was planned to help defray medical costs for Huck, who was diagnosed with an inoperable medical condition in her brain that has rendered her unable to walk.
Huck taught for five years as a Pre-K teacher at Maui Preparatory Academy in West Maui and served for many years as a day care provider on the island.
She is seeing alternative medical treatments and is currently under the care of physicians.
The fundraising event will be held at 6 p.m., August 14, at Lulu’s in Lahaina. Activities include Live music with a special performance by Uncle Willie K.
There will also be door prizes, a keiki zone and silent auction. Auction items include a one night stay at The Ritz0 Carlton-Kapalua; and certificates from Cilanto; Pizza Paradiso; Leilani’s; Pineapple Grill; Kimo’s; Hula Grill; Banyan Tree Restaurant; Duke’s; Warren & Annabelle’s Magic Show; Maui Jim Boat Private Charter; UFO Parasail; Private drum lesson with Mick Fleetwood, and more.
Cost is $20 at the door, or $5 for kids 18 years and younger.
