Crews from the County Department of Water Supply continue to work on restoring water to customers at the top of the Upper Ulumalu area of Haiku today.

The restoration effort has been in progress since Monday, when crews began work to repair faulty pressure regulators.

By Tuesday, 25 homes remained without sufficient water pressure, and today, approximately a dozen homes in the uppermost part of the Maui Ranch Estates subdivision and above, were still affected by low water pressure or no water.

Until the problem can be completely isolated and repaired, customers in all of Maui Ranch Estates are urged to conserve water by turning off irrigation systems and other non-essential water uses.

Portable water tankers with potable water are available at Waipalani Road, at the Intersection of Kalipo Place and Waipalani Road, and at the intersection of Kupuai Road and Koolau Road.  Water customers affected by the outage can use the tankers to fill up their own containers.

Customers are urged to call the 24-hour service line (270-7633) only if a water problem occurs.
