Vehicles Thefts & Break-ins on Maui Oct 9-15, 2011

There were a total of 13 vehicle thefts and 14 vehicle break-ins on Maui in the second week of October.

The incidents were spread over different areas of the island between October 9th and 15th.

The highest concentration was in Kihei where four thefts and three break-ins were reported over six days.

A complete run-down of incidents is listed below:

Kahului:

Vehicle thefts:

  • Sunday, Oct. 9, 10:15 p.m.: So. Kamehameha Avenue. 1996 black Honda Accord. MDD80
  • Tuesday, Oct. 11, 9:30 a.m.: Kahului Airport Road. 2007 silver Dodge Caravan. KZH998
  • Friday, Oct. 14, 9:30 a.m.: Alamaha Street.  2000 silver Toyota four-door sedan. PXV726

Wailuku:

  • Thursday, Oct. 13, 6 a.m.: Naniloa Drive. 2011 white/brown moped.  M64037
  • Thursday, Oct. 13, 8:45 a.m.: Iliau Way, Iliahi Subdivision off Kehalani Mauka. 2005 silver Yamaha motorcycle. 131MVK
  • Friday, Oct. 14, 9 p.m.: Meakanu Lane at the Kehalani Gardens parking lot.  1996 gray Honda Accord.  GGX680

  • Friday, Oct. 14, 8:50 a.m.: Kaae Road and Kuhio Place.  1990 gold Lincoln Continental
  • Friday, Oct. 14, 8:50 a.m.: Kaae Road and Kuhio Place.  2000 white Chevrolet Cavalier

  • Sunday, Oct. 9, 11;53 a.m.: Uwao Road at Kihei Villages.  2010 blue/gray Kingring moped.  MC-JL4A, VIN: LJ5LA4081A1080129
  • Wednesday, Oct. 12, 4:30 p.m.: So. Kihei Rd. at Paradise Gardens Apartments.  2003 red Honda motorcycle.  862HNM (attempted theft)
  • Friday, Oct. 14, 7:18 p.m.: So. Kihei Rd. at Kihei Regency Apartments.  1996 gold Nissan pickup.  NCS751 7
  • Saturday, Oct. 15, 4:30 p.m.: So. Kihei Rd. at Maui Gardens.  1994 White Honda Accord. FFF741 7

  • Monday, Oct. 10, 5 p.m.: Puu Mala Place.  2007 gray Ford Focus
  • Wednesday, Oct. 12, 9:15 a.m.: So. Kihei Rd.  2004 white Honda CRV
  • Friday, Oct. 14, 9:36 a.m.: So. Kihei Rd. at the Maui Lu Resort.  2010 gray Dodge Charger

  • Wednesday, Oct. 12, 9 p.m.: Wainee Street.  2006 white Chevy Colorado truck/SUV. MPZ458. (recovered)

  • Tuesday, Oct. 11, 4:10 p.m.: Front Street at the Old Lahaina Lu’au.  2011 green Jeep Wrangler
  • Saturday, Oct. 15, 8:30 p.m.: Dickenson St at Dickenson Square.  2003 white Chevrolet SUV

  • Friday, Oct. 14, 11 a.m.: Baldwin Ave., just below the Paia Mill.  Yellow Caterpillar Tractor Co. Turbo Backhoe.  426B
  • Friday, Oct. 14, 11 a.m.: Baldwin Ave., just below the Paia Mill.  Yellow Komatsu MINI Excavator.  PC45MR-1
