BRIEF: West Maui House Fire Causes $35,000 Damage

A house fire in West Maui on Sunday evening, was most likely accidental, according to Maui fire officials.

The fire at 2773 Kolepa Place burned three air conditioning units located in an exterior fenced area outside the home, and damaged some of the exterior of the house as well.

The blaze caused an estimated $20,000 in damage to the structure, and $15,000 to the air conditioning units.

The fire was first reported at 8:27 p.m. at a home located at the Maui Kaanapali Golf Estates.

Fire crews responding from Lahaina and Napili had the blaze contained by 8:41 p.m. and extinguished by 9:33 p.m.

There were no injuries reported.
