The Hawaii business community will have an unprecedented opportunity to learn from APEC global leaders at the Asia-Pacific Business Symposium in Waikiki, starting Wednesday, November 9.

Sponsored by the APEC Hawai‘i Host Committee, East-West Center and Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC), this two-day symposium at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa will focus discussion on trade, regional sustainability, public-private partnerships, the role of small and medium enterprises, and the future of Hawaii’s influence within the Asia-Pacific region.

Featured local speakers include: US Senator Dan Inouye, Dr. Charles Morrison, president of the East-West Center; Warren Luke, chairman of PBEC and president and chief executive officer of Hawai‘i National Bank.

Featured international and national speakers include: Haruhiko Kuroda, president of the Asian Development Bank; Craig Emerson, Australian Minister for Trade; Yu Ping, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; and Surapong Tovichakchaikul, the Thai foreign minister.
