BRIEF: Kahului Airport Runway Maintenance

The state Department of Transportation will conduct airfield maintenance work at Kahului Airport for a second weekend in a row.
The work was described as routine maintenance in a press release issued this afternoon by the DOT.
Runway 2/20 will be closed on Sunday morning, December 18, from 12:01 to 5 a.m. for maintenance work.

During these times, the flight patterns for arriving and departing cargo flights will be modified resulting in an increased in air traffic over Wailuku and Kahului.
DOT officials say the work is being done in the early morning hours to minimize disruption to airport services.
