Last year, an estimated 100 people gathered to witness Santa arrive on shore via outrigger canoe.

This year, hotel officials anticipate an estimated 200 people as lifeguards escort Santa ashore via a surprise form of transportation.

Juice and cookies will be served to guests and picture taking with Santa will commence afterward.

The arrival is expected at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 24, at Maluaka Beach fronting the Makena Beach & Golf Resort.

The Makena Beach & Golf Resort, formerly the Maui Prince, is comprised of 310 units and is located on 1,800 acres of Maui’s south shore.
