Maui police reopened Kauhikoa Road in Haiku at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2011. The road was closed earlier in the day as crews worked to repair a downed electrical pole.

Maui police have closed a portion of Kauhikoa Road in Haiku because of a downed electrical pole.

The closure went into effect at 8:10 a.m. and is expected to last for six hours or more.
The downed pole is located on Kauhikoa Road between Kane Road and Nani Hoku Place.
