Medicare Fraud Prevention Town Hall Meetings

The County of Maui will host a series of town hall meetings on Medicare Fraud Prevention.

The Protect, Detect, Report series will focus on informing Medicare card holders on what to do if their card is stolen, who to call if fraud occurs, and how to protect their card from future thefts.

Meetings are scheduled on Lana`i and Maui on the following dates and times:

  • Lana`i:  9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, February 25 at the Lana`i Senior center at 309 Seventh Street in Lana`i City.
  • Maui: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m, Saturday, March 3 at the Maui Waena Intermediate School dining hall, located at 795 Onehee Avenue in Kahului.

The meetings will be conducted in English and Ilokano, and refreshments will be served.

The meetings are made possible through a grant from the US Administration on Aging, and is sponsored by the Senior Medicare Patrol program of the Hawai`i State Executive Office on Aging, the State Office of Language Access, and the Maui County Office on Aging.

The Lana`i Senior Center and the Lana`i Filipino Community Council also assisted in the coordination of the Lana`i meeting.
