Maui Police Chief Yabuta Gets Positive Evaluation

Maui Police Chief Gary Yabuta received high marks during an annual review conducted by the Maui Police Commission.

The evaluation included review of leadership in accreditation, community relations, budget and professionalism.

Of special note was Chief Yabuta’s oversight of the new Kihei police station process, and a robust recruiting and training program.

Chief Yabuta also wraps up the latest in a series of MPD Town Hall meetings with a final session set to take place at Helene Hall in Hana, on Monday, March 21, 2012 at 6 p.m.

Commission Chair Leil Koch said the commission is “very pleased” with the leadership of the chief and looks forward to the year ahead.
