Wind Advisory Haleakala Summit Extended

A Wind Advisory for Haleakala Summit has been extended until 6 a.m. Saturday for elevations above 6,000 feet.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service say winds will be gusty easterlies blowing at 20-30 mph, with 45 mph gusts.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.  Motorists are asked to drive with extra caution, and secure any loose objects that may become airborne, or move them indoors.
