UPDATE: Waterline Break Papa Avenue

As of noon, crews were no longer on site, and repairs were no longer impacting traffic on Papa Avenue.

Motorists traveling in Central Maui are advised of a waterline break in Kahului on Papa Avenue, fronting the Ala Lani United Methodist Church.

Officials with the Maui Department of Water Supply say traffic on Papa Avenue is currently open to one-lane only between Wahi Hoolaha Road and Holua Drive near Roselani Place.

Personnel are repairing the 8-inch line and estimate completion in about six hours, according to DWS Administrative Officer, Jacky Takakura.

Motorists are advised to follow traffic control or use another route during this time.
