Deadline Extended for Lanai Community Plan Advisory Committee

The application deadline for individuals seeking nomination on the Lanai Community Plan Advisory Committee has been extended until June 15, 2012.

The announcement was made today by Policy Committee Chair Riki Hokama.

Under County ordinance, nine of the 13 committee members must be appointed by the Council, while the remaining four are appointed by the Mayor.

To be eligible to serve on the Lanai CPAC, an applicant must be a resident of the Island of Lanai.  Experience in land use planning is helpful, but not required.

The application form and a general information sheet concerning the Lanai CPAC can be found under “Items of Interest” in the Policy Committee’s section of the County website at: http://www.mauicounty.gov/committees/pol.

Applications should be received or postmarked no later than 4:30 p.m. on June 15.  The Policy Committee is expected to meet soon thereafter to consider appointments.
