BRIEF: Body of Local Man Pulled from Lana’i Waters

The body of a 45-year-old local man was pulled from waters off of Lana’i on Saturday, June 9, 2012.

Authorities say the incident was reported at 4:09 p.m. in waters fronting Hulopoe Beach.

Officials from the Maui Fire Department say bystanders, along with the Maui Police Department performed CPR.

When medics arrived on scene, they continued advanced life support, officials said.

Authorities say the man was then transported to the Lana’i General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
