Jokovich Elected Maui Hotel Association Board Chair

At its annual membership meeting on September 19, the Maui Hotel and Lodging Association elected Michael Jokovich, the general manager of the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, as chairman of its board of directors.

Association members also elected Matt Bailey, managing director of the Grand Wailea to vice chairman; Sharon Suzuki, president of Maui Electric Co. to treasurer; and Carol Reimann, the executive director of the association continues as secretary.

“We are pleased to have such a strong and dynamic group of leaders on the MHLA Board,” says Jokovich in a written statement.

“Collectively, we have literally over three centuries worth of expertise amongst the board which will be invaluable as we take an active role in advocating for the visitor industry as we emerge from some of the most very challenging of times.”

The luncheon meeting was held at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali. A mini-trade show preceded the meeting and featured MHLA allied business members where their products were showcased to visitor industry leaders and dignitaries.

Keynote speakers at this annual gathering included John Monahan president and chief executive officer of the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau and Mufi Hannemann, president and chief executive officer of the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association.
