Akaka to Speak at Native Hawaiian Convention

US Senator Daniel Akaka will address the 11th annual Native Hawaiian Convention this afternoon in Honolulu at the Hawai‘i Convention Center.

Senator Akaka has spoken at every convention since its inception in 2001.  This will be his final address to the convention as a sitting US Senator, as he retires in January.

Akaka is the first Native Hawaiian ever in the US Senate and third to serve in Congress.
