The Maui Home Depot teamed up with the Maui Fire Department and sheriff’s office for a special fire safety event to promote National Fire Safety Month.

Over 200 children, ages 5 years old to 12 years old and their parents built and painted wooden fire trucks. The fireman and sheriff’s helped them practice “Stop, Drop and Roll” and “Stay Low and Go.” Kids and their parents used fire hoses to put out a burning building; and explored the Fire Department’s trucks and sheriff’s car. A special appearance was made by Sparky Dog.
