Philippine Consulate Outreach on Maui, Oct. 27

Philippine passport applications and immigrant services will be offered on Maui during an outreach event on Saturday, October 27.

The Consular Services Outreach runs from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Department of Motor Vehicles and Licensing offices in Kahului at the Maui Mall.

The event is hosted by the Philippine Consulate General of Honolulu in partnership with the County of Maui.

County officials say services to be offered include: Philippine passport application, legalization of documents (affidavits, powers of attorney, deeds, other legal instruments), Civil Registry (reports of births, marriages and deaths), Dual Citizenship application and oath-taking, and Registration for Overseas Absentee Voting.

“We are happy that Consul General Julius Torres of the Philippine Consulate will conduct their outreach again here on Maui so our constituents will not need to fly to Honolulu to fulfill their consular requirements,” said Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa, who noted that the county is currently observing October as Filipino American History Month.

Assistance with forms and documents is also available through the Immigrant Services Division of the Department of Housing and Human Concerns.  This is available free of charge to non-immigrants, immigrants, migrants and citizens of all ethnicities.

Immigration-related matters handled by the department includes: citizenship, permanent residency and family-based petitions.  The division also offers assistance with acculturation, information, referral, translation and interpretation services.
