A Wind Advisory is in effect until Friday night at the Big Island Summits, and at the Summit of Haleakala here on Maui.
Winds are expected to be in the 25 to 35 mph range, with gusts of up to 40 mph in areas above the 6,000-foot elevation.
Forecasters from the National Weather Service say winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Motorists should use extra caution while driving, and secure any loose objects that may become airborne.
