As players have one final opportunity to qualify for the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, the event has limited volunteer opportunities when the first event of the 2013 PGA TOUR season comes to The Plantation Course, Jan. 3-7.

Volunteers have the opportunity to meet new people and make new friendships while getting a behind-the-scenes working view of how the winner-only launch to the FedExCup season comes to life.

The field for the 2013 Hyundai Tournament of Champions will include some of the biggest names in golf. Winners from the 2012 PGA TOUR season to date include the likes of defending champion Steve Stricker, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Webb Simpson, Ernie Els and many more.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of the tournament, and without their hard work and dedication the event would not be able to give proceeds like the $300,000 given back to the Maui community from the 2012 tournament.

“Because of the stature and importance of this PGA TOUR event to this community and the charities that are touched by the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, it is imperative that we assemble the most effective and experienced volunteer staff possible,” said Executive Director Nancy Cross. “This is a great opportunity to meet new people, network, make great friends and play a vital role in the success of one of the most elite tournaments on the PGA TOUR.”

Ian Poulter qualified last week thanks to his victory at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions. That leaves the final opportunity for players to qualify for the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at this week’s Children’s Miracle Network Classic at Disney World.

Tickets are on sale now, and there are limited Pro-Am spots available. For more info, visit htoc.mauinow.com or call 808-665-9160.
