Maui Roadwork: Keopuka, Lahaina, Maalaea

Road maintenance continues in the Keopuka area of the Hana Highway between mile post 10.4 near the Garden of Eden, and mile post 16 near the Keanae Peninsula Road. Crews are working weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., resulting in a single lane closure in the westbound direction.

In West Maui, erosion repairs continue on a damaged section of the Honoapiilani Highway. As a result of the roadwork, there is a reduced speed limit and traffic control measures on the highway between Front Street and Kai Hele Ku Street fronting Launiupoko State Park. The project is ongoing.

There is also an ongoing project near Maalaea Harbor.  Maalaea Boat Harbor Road from the south Honoapiilani Highway entrance to Hauoli Road remains closed through the end of December 2012 due to construction of water and sewer lines, and a water treatment facility.  Signs displaying alternate route information have been placed along the highway to alert motorists.
