Spago at the Four Seasons Resort Maui hosted a fundraiser for the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation on October 18 and raised nearly $30,000 in support of the goals for comprehensive healthcare at the medical center.

Todd A. Vines,  previously the public relations and social media director for Gilbert & Association, a Maui-based advertising firm, recently announced that he has accepted a position with Jones Lang LaSalle to serve as marketing manager at Queen Kaahumanu Center.

Lisa Paulson, formerly marketing manager at Queen Kaahumanu Center, was named executive director of the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association.

John Dean, the president and chief executive officer of Central Pacific Bank and Alvin Imada, the senior vice president and their neighbor island regional manager, presented a $10,000 check to the American Heart Association in support of the 15th Annual Maui Heart Walk.

Golf For Gals, a Maui-based women’s golf and business club, raised $1,350 for Maui Economic Opportunity, Inc. with their 5th Maui Women’s Classic golf Fore Gals event.

The Rotary Club of Lahaina, in cooperation with the Hawaii State Public Library System and Maui Friends of the Library, completed a $280,000 renovation project of the Lahaina Public Library.

Nancy Duff has been named broker-in-charge of the Wailea office of Century 21 All Islands.

Marion Higa, the state auditor, announced her retirement at the end of November after 21 years of auditing the performance of Hawaii’s state government agencies.

Natalie “Tasha” Kama, the 25-year pastor of The Christian Ministry Church in Wailuku, recently joined Dust Consulting Services, a transportation planning firm formed in 2012, as a Hawaiian culture specialist.

Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society (HPGS) awarded Deborah Arendale, the executive on aging at the County of Maui, its Government Award at the 17th Biennial HPGS Conference in Honolulu.

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii has promoted Joy Barua to director of community benefit and health policy.

Maui Brewing Company has added Darren Moser as director of brewery operations, and Kaiao Archer as a brewer.

Long-time resident, landscape architect and former head of two County of Maui departments, Chris Hart, died on November 11. He was 71.

Ku’uhaku Park has joined Matson Navigation Company, Inc. as vice president, government and community relations.

Mark Dunkerley, the president and chief executive officer of Hawaiian Airlines, has signed a new three-year contract with the carrier’s parent, Hawaiian Holdings, Inc.

John Dean, the chief executive officer, and Alvin Imada, the senior vice president/neighbor island regional manager, of the Central Pacific Bank, presented a $10,000 check to the American Heart Association in support of the 15th Annual Maui Heart Walk. 

John Tomoso resigned as executive director of Hui No Ke Ola Pono, Inc., a private, not for profit community-based health enhancement, disease prevention and health care center. Joey Gonsalves, who has been with the Hui for 19 years, will serve as the interim executive director.
