Authorities say the 22-year-old woman was suffered possible fractures to her shoulder, leg and face.

She was airlifted by Maui Fire Department personnel to a landing zone above the Hana Highway, where an engine crew and medic were standing by to transport the woman to the Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Authorities say the woman was in stable condition, but rescue crews took full precautions in the case of a spinal injury.
