Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa will deliver his 2013 State of the County address from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the HP Baldwin High School auditorium.

Doors for the event will open at 4 p.m. Those wishing to attend the event are asked to RSVP to Jock Yamaguchi at 270-8275 or via email at jock.yamaguchi@mauicounty.gov.

During his 2012 State of the County address, the mayor called on lawmakers to back a bill that addresses infrastructure tax credits and production credits to support the establishment of a film industry on Maui.

He also emphasized plans to make the county more efficient in part through plans to install photovoltaic panels at some two dozen county buildings.

We are all “customers” of the county. And, as a customer – all I know is that things are SOOOO much better under Mayor Arakawa than they were with the last Mayor. Every point of contact I have had with county employees has been much better. Doors are always open. Love the county on the corner events. And, the fourth friday event in Kehei a couple of weeks ago was a blast. There must have been 3,000 or 4,000 people there. Kudos to the Mayor and his team!
