Native Hawaiian Scholarship Workshop on Lāna‘i
By Wendy Osher
The University of Hawai‘i is reaching out to native Hawaiians across the state who want to pursue a college education.
The effort is part of a statewide initiative to bring native Hawaiian scholarship opportunities to under-served communities.
The Native Hawaiian Scholarship ‘Aha includes a series of free presentations for high school students, parents, teachers, and current college students, who are interested in learning about financial aid.
The Lāna‘i version of the presentation takes place tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lāna‘i School Cafeteria.
Similar meetings were held in other communities throughout the state and county over the past few weeks.
