Maui Police Search for Pukalani Bank Robbery Suspect

Maui police are seeking the public’s help in locating a male suspect wanted for the robbery of the First Hawaiian Bank in Pukalani.

The incident was reported at 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, at the bank branch located at 67 Makawao Avenue.

Upon entering the bank, police say the responsible showed the teller a demand note and allegedly brandished what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun.

Police say the suspect then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as in his 30s to early 40s with fair skin, red hair, and lots of freckles on his face and hands.  Police say the man is about 5’10” to 6’2″, and weighs between 180 and 190 pounds.

Authorities say the man was last seen wearing a multicolor long sleeve plaid shirt with a light blue bandana on his head.

Police say the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
